The Central Lakes Cup - Established 2025

The Central Lakes Cup is a grouping of schools that often compete together, so that we can determine standings of both teams and individuals throughout the ski season. Links to results will be available on this page.

How does it work?
  • 5 races are designated that count towards this (typically one per school hosting). 
  • Teams are scored by an accumulation of their placing (team finish points) through the 4 of the 5 races (worst result is thrown out). Tie breaker will be the finish points (accumulated from each race). Second tie break would be placement at the 5th race, third tie breaker would be the total times for the counted races.
  • Individuals are scored by an accumulation of their placing (individual finish points) through 4 of the 5 races (worst result is thrown out). Tie breaker would be the 5th race finish, second tie break would be the total time of the best 4 finishes.
  • Scoring will be updated each week, allowing for "leaders" and progressive placing
  • If other teams are in attendance, they would be extracted from the results and the event would be scored as if it were just the 5 teams from the "Central Lakes Cup" competing against each other.
  • For team scoring, we would use the same MSHSL designations for top 4 athletes scoring, but we can seed 8 as Varsity (not 6 like at sections). JV would still get their individual rankings and would not be separated from Varsity.
